Bijna iedereen kent wel een ploeg waarbij het lijkt dat ze altijd wel het klusje klaren thuis. Wel, in de meeste competities geldt dit voor het merendeel van de ploegen. Wat is Thuisvoordeel?
Voor vele ploegen is er groot verschil tussen thuis- en uitwedstrijden. Vaak voelen ploegen zich het meest op hun gemak tijdens thuiswedstrijden aangezien de zij en hun fans minder ver moeten reizen. Echter in grotere landen zoals Rusland of de VS, zijn spelers en fans vaak al weg van de dag voordien. Dit kan effect hebben op de moraal en vermoeidheid van de spelers. Ook de manier van reizen zal z'n effect hebben. In low-budget competities zoals Ghana, Litouwen of Thailand zal er namelijk geen Privé-Jet klaarstaan voor het vervoer.
